My sister will usually recommend books to me! She suggested both the Twilight and Hunger Games series to me, and I really enjoyed them. She is good at picking out books that soon become popular.

I will read anything if it sounds interesting enough, but I find that most of the fiction I read can be classified under fantasy, science fiction and horror. As for non-fiction, I usually read about history and culture, particularly oddball topics within those two (i.e. dining, eroticization of the interracial relationships, birthing between different cultures). I also read a lot of folktales and fairy tales.

Lately, I've been into crime and psychological thrillers! Suspense has come to be one of the elements that I most enjoy in fiction, and I have a preference for deeply flawed characters with dark pasts.

Thrillers, of various types..I don't have the same patience with books as I once had, I just want to escape and be entertained.

I read primarily literary fiction and English classics. Recently I've been trying to acquaint myself more fully with poetry, which has been a form I've kept my distance at for quite some time. The Romantics and particularly John Keats have been very helpful in sussing me out of my cave. I am trying to tackle Hart Crane right now but his verses require a great deal of learning to penetrate and I feel my efforts haven't yet produced very good results. The words are nevertheless quite pretty and this stylistic, aesthetic sort of reading-without-meaning has introduced me to a completely new type of going through a piece.

A lot of different ones, but mystery is probably my favorite.

I am a Grammar school teacher so I read children's books the most. I like to read anything from children's classics (Wizard of Oz, The Secret Garden) to the more modern selections such as Harry Potter, The Graveyard Book, and the Giver series.

I absolutely LOVE action and adventure books! They are usually fast paced and extremely engaging! It's almost as though the books has arms and is holding me down, keeping me reading.

As well, I love a good romance book. As long as it isn't too mushy! :D
