I recently saw The DUFF's adaptation, and it was terrible. Very disappointed.

I agree completely! The plot was messed up so badly there was barely any point to the film

I totally agree. These were the worst for me, but also the Twilight series. I felt there were instances in the books that were quite clever and witty and they were just left out.

Yup, another vote for Eragon.

The worst part is that it had so much potential. If the movie had been good, it could've been a pretty good series of movies, and some studio exec probably ruined it.

The first maze runner movie, I made the mistake of reading the book first I loved it but I was disappointed with the movie. I loved the actors what really got to me are the things they left out and I understand that somethings just don't really work on film but the way they went about it just left a bad taste in my mouth. I do wonder if I had watched the movie first than read the book, if I would have hated it as much as I do now. But I do feel the end of the movies are giving spoilers away for those who haven't read past the first book.

Definitely the Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. It was the worst movie adaptation I've seen. It was really disappointing. A lot of people complain about the casting, but it's not the only problem. The problem is that Hollywood looks like it was trying to save money by coming out with this adaptation thinking, "nobody will notice if we just cut out..." We noticed!

I really didn't like The Fault In Our Stars movie. I feel like I'm the only one who didn't think It did the book justice.

There are too many for me to count. My friends and family have learned not to take me to or watch a movie based on a book I have read because I will tear it to bits. The Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons were disappointments. Some of the Harry Potter movies while great, were disappointments. The Great Gatsby while good also disappointing in various aspects. The Mortal Instruments was also disappointing..just to name a few.

The Shining. Not that it was a bad movie, I really liked it. It's like it was made from a different book than the one Steven King wrote.

Gone Girl. I loved the book (except for the ending!). The movie didn't pack the same punch for me, and I just couldn't relate to Ben Affleck as the husband. He certainly has the douche-y part down pact (in real life, too), but the character in the book was more layered and ambiguous.

The Host by Stephenie Meyer. I loved the book it's one on my favorites. The book goes into such detail with the characters and places. The storyline was amazing!!!! The movie SUCKED!!! I don't know how I managed to even finish watching it. They destroyed the entire story. Changed characters, changed relationships, even changed how things happened in the book. It's been a long time since I watched the movie and it still upsets me to think about it.

The DUFF for me, the whole premise of the book was this girl who hated a guy for calling her The DUFF of her group then she snuck around sleeping with him. The whole premise of the movie was a girl who wanted to be liked and become popular. Two TOTALLY different story lines and I have never watched a movie that was THAT far off of a book.

I had issue with Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin. I liked the book OK, but I absolutely loved its sequel, Something Blue. That's a darned fine book.

Anyways, the movie for Something Borrowed was lame, but I can't even explain how... All I know is that I bailed on watching it about halfway through because it was putting me to sleep. It didn't make me care.
