You did a great job on this review, and this really seems like a cute story line. It also sounds like the writer has it spot on as to how you should approach a new horse. This sounds like a great story of friendship and understanding. This is the type of story I would love to read to my kids one of these days.

Thank you! I do think the author has some knowledge of/experience with horses and how to "befriend" them. Overall, it's a nice story with a good moral, and it could be useful in teaching children.

You really thought from a child's perspective and gave the author all the necessary info to make the book better. Thank you! It is, if not altogether original, an unusual and insightful way to tell a story. The author takes us inside the heads of both main characters, and the difference with which they view the exact same events is revealing and can be an effective teaching tool for parents.

Yeah, really... rejected by her horse! It sounds a lot more realistic than a lot of the "romantic" horse stories written for kids, in which the horses are emotionally present, and you certainly never fall off of one, or get bucked, or anything bad like that! The reality of owning a horse is never quite so romantic.

Probably so, and the author seems to be acquainted with the process of befriending a horse. Astute parents (and children) will be able to apply these principles to people as well. I'm sure it was written with this in mind.

Yeah, poor Eddie never quite could compete with his brother's profundity. So he signed up for a few night classes to learn the abacus, took up accounting, and rented a one-bedroom apartment above a liquor store. You don't hear too much about him, but he was really good at backgammon and (big surprise) Chinese checkers.
