Okay, so I have changed my mind. I'm going to be reading Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children It seems so creepy and right up the alley of this topic.

I have the paperback on hand, and I love the concept of its having photographs. More books should include artwork of some kind!! Maybe the concept of multimedia books will be the wave of the future.

I have to say that Stephen King takes the cake when it comes to Horror authors. The detail he uses to paint a picture for the reader is very pleasing.

I'll be reading Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children since I actually started reading it a few days ago :) I may change to a Stephen King book, though, depending on how quickly I finish this one. Super excited!

@KNewton you might like some of the Pendergast series by Douglas Preson and Lincoln Child (first one is 'Relic"). Has a similar feel to Da Vinci Code and is extremely popular at my work due to its 'hook line and sinker' factor. Most get drawn into the book within a few pages. Description: "Just days before a massive exhibition opens at the popular New York Museum of Natural History, visitors are being savagely murdered in the museum's dark hallways and secret rooms. Autopsies indicate that the killer cannot be human...

But the museum's directors plan to go ahead with a big bash to celebrate the new exhibition, in spite of the murders.

Museum researcher Margo Green must find out who--or what--is doing the killing. But can she do it in time to stop the massacre?"
Wow, this sounds like a good book! It will definitely set the October mood! I'm also planning to re-read The Complete Poetry of Edgar Allan Poe and Spooky New England by S.E. Schlosser. The latter is a collection of regional ghost stories.

Miss Peregrine is an excellent October choice, in my opinion. I wouldn't mind re-reading that one, too!

I couldn't wait - loaded the book on my Nook a couple of days ago and started reading GODS OF THE NOWHERE. I'll probably be done a bit early. I also bought a copy of THE GHOSTS OF PEPPERNELL MANOR - based completely on its title. These will be new authors for me to get to know.

I love this idea! It has also just solidified my decision to go ahead and review a horror story for the review team. I'm scared and excited.

Yay, it's finally October so I can start! I indeed put all the titles in a jar and picked out Kendare Blake's Queen of nightmares. I picked a back up too, the second of Books of blood.

Miss Peregrine's Home was a very interesting book, read it last year. I was hoping it'd be scarier tho. But really great book, if only for the visuals I am glad I have it and can go through the pictures.
