Re: Twilight Series by Stephaine Meyer

This is my first post on here, personally I absolutely love the twilight series, even though breaking dawn slightly dragged on and bored me halfway. However, when I eventually finished I was pretty mesmerized by the whole series. I read them a few years ago and recently re-read eclipse, falling in love with edward all over again. I grew to dislike the films in the past few years, but the books are still amazing.

I remember slightly liking the series when I read the first book, but as I got older, I started realizing that it wasn't quite my thing. I do appreciate how well people connect to the characters, but I'm still rather disturbed by a few parts (like Edward watching Bella sleep through her window).

Surprisingly, my brother (who never reads) got me into the series. We both read them in high school, and I remember enjoying them immensely. I was never a fan girl either, but I did anxiously await the release of the last book. I think Stephanie Meyer is talented in the sense that she is able to capture somewhat of what it's like to be a teenager/young adult in love for the first time. Being in love with a vampire is an interesting twist. I can never admit in any of my literature classes, however, that I read and enjoyed the books in fear of being banished from college or something  but that's only in comparison to other great literary works.

I read the books after seeing the first film just becouse the movie confused me so. I needed some answers and I found out I really enjoyed the books. And have read them several times now, one thing that keeps bugging me is how Edward sometimes try to controll Bella, thats just feels a bit wrong at times. But its a small issue I guess :D its good teenage book, works for older readers to ofcourse.

Stephanie Myers is such a good author. The twilight series has captured the attention of all age groups, mostly females, in my area. I have noticed that she tends to give more detail allowing us to paint the picture almost as she see's it. Extraoridnay series twilight is and such a wonderful writer Stephanie is

I found myself in a somewhat unique position with this series. I had heard the hype but hadn't felt compelled to pick up the books. One evening, out of boredom and lack of better things to do, I rented Twilight. Although I felt that some of the acting fell short, I am a firm believer that the books are always better than the movie. On that assumption, I ordered the entire series and promptly finished all four books within roughly one week. The books were far better than the movie, although I did continue to watch all of the movies as they were released. The Twilight series is one of my "guilty pleasures" - a book or series that I personally enjoyed that most of the general population have criticized (poor writing, poor acting, etc.)

When Twilight first came out I am not going to lie I did not want to read it at all. Mostly because it was so huge and it intimidated me. But something changed in me and I read the first book and that was it. I could not get enough of the series. I was so sad when I finished the series I didn't know what to do with myself! Stephanie Meyer did a great job!!

I read the books years ago and thoroughly enjoyed them. I even re-read the second and fourth book numerous times. After I saw the movies, I was disappointed. The movies don't come close to the books and anyone who is interested in watching the Twilight movies should first indulge themselves in the books first. But if you have watched the movies and have not read the books, read the books. The characters seem more alive, pun unintended, in the books and you'll be happy you read them.

Ahh, I sit here and look at these books as I write this. I went to the extent and got each one as a hard book copy and I'm glad I did. I also read these before the hype and my friends and I really enjoyed them. I feel the movies gave me a love/hate relationship for the rest of the time though. My mother gushes over the movies and I so desperately wish she'd read the books but she isn't much of a book reader. I loved the characters and how they are portrayed in the books and how the move and grow together and even apart at times. I do plan on rereading my copies as soon as Twilight gets home from its travels with friends.

I got into reading the Twilight series after watching the first movie. I then tried to read each book before the next movie came out. While I really love the movies, I did enjoy the books more. They were more descriptive and informative. I have to admit, I have read them more than once. The story of true love in an impossible world....it's beautiful and mesmerizing. I found myself picking sides and then rooting for love to overcome. I became entrapped in Stephanie Meyer's magical world and enjoyed my break from reality.

I also enjoyed reading all the books included in this series. The books came out when I was in high school and had not yet become such a popular read. I completed the series before the start of the movies. I was somewhat disappointed in the movies as I expected to be since some details needed to be removed in order to create an appropriate movie in length. I believe when reading this series, your imagination proves to be better than the actual movie represents. However, I still continued seeing all the movies that were created from this series and I also recommend the series (books and movies) to others. It is a good read and Stephanie Meyer has created a world with vampires that others can relate to.

I enjoyed both the books and the movies. I am not the fan that some of my friends are (a moviethon the night before a movie was released). They are very well written and it gave my daughter something new to talk about. The movies were well done and I was surprised as a lot of movies based on books drive me nuts (I complained about Forest Gump so much that my e-xhusband left the room). I doubt that I will read them again though. I always recommend that people read the book first.

The Twilight series was pretty good. It was a love story between a vampire and a human. The movie kind of ruined the series and gave it a bad reputation but if you read the actual book you won't be able to put it down until you finish it.

I honestly enjoyed the book series when it came out. It was actually the first YA ebook I've read that got me hook with ebooks and that was in PDF format! Mobile readers would understand the struggle. Anyway, watching the movies made me realize how silly it was. Mostly I hated Bella's character which made me deppreciate the series.
