Becca Fitzpatrick is an awesome author. I like novels written by Jennifer Armentrout as well.

There are many YA authors I have read and they are fantastic, but I really enjoy reading Cassandra Clare! The Mortal Instruments series kept me wanting to turn the page, I read the first 3 in a weekend! She does a great job adding details to the story without getting boring! As a fan of her work I was truly disappointed The Mortal Instruments movie was handled so poorly! That movie could have been awesome, just as good as Twilight or The Hunger Games. Cassandra Clare makes you forget you are reading hundreds of pages because you are so engrossed with the story she's written!

Oh wow, that's a hard question! I've read a variety of YA authors and so far Cassandra Clare is close to being my favorite. The Mortal Instruments and Infernal Device Series are amazing series and reading them is just so enjoyable. She has this way of creating these wonderful worlds that are so interesting to read about. I am also a fan of Jennifer L. Armentrout and the Lux series; I would eventually like to start reading the Covenant series.

I enjoyed reading J. K. Rowling's work and admire her ability to create such a diverse and beautiful plot of such a grand story. Not only is Harry Potter captivating but it also draws out the truth of reality- faces the truth of certain obstacles every human has faced or will in the future, such as the concepts of romance-jealousy, true love, flings, and many others. The concept of bullying, racism, acts of violence, self inflicted harm, betrayal, despair, sorrow, loss of loved ones and war. These books could in a way teach all of society the infliction and burden of everyday life we face and probably widen our minds to concepts of peace rather than violence. I believe she teaches us all a lesson of the fears and evil, and the goodness and purity of humanity.

My favorite YA author is one and only J.K Rowling. The imagination that she has, the fictional characters that she presents are so realistic. Her power to generate all those magical spells, the storyline everything is beyond perfect. I wish i could be only half as talent as she is.

E. B. White or Roald Dahl. They both had a knack for writing timeless stories.

Ally Carter is by far one of my most favorite YA authors. She creates gripping adventurous tales, mainly focusing on Spys or espionage or heists. Her writing will hook you within the first few chapters and will leave you waiting for the next book. I recommend her books, mainly the Ghallager Girl series.

I must admit that I had never read YA books because I fully expected them to be puerile and silly. It may sound ridiculous but my first, and, to my knowledge only exposure to YA books was Susanne Collins', The Hunger Games, and I only read that almost by accident.

I was quite pleasantly surprised by Collins' trilogy and this has encouraged me to read more. About six months ago I read James Dasher's, The Maze Runner and more recently Veronica Roth's, Divergent. Though I feel these books lack the deeper literary artistry of more mature fiction they are still quite engaging and make for a nice break between more challenging reading.

OK, I have "heard" Jennifer Armentrout's name mentioned in this thread SO many times that I have placed her on my "to be read" list. May I beg your advice as to which book(s) I should start with?
