Christmas

Post by StephenKingman »

Its only a few weeks until Christmas so are you excited, do you like or hate this time of year and what plans do you have for the holiday? :D

I plan to finish up work on Dec 16th until the New Year and spend the holiday with family, maybe the odd few drinks with a few pals day after Christmas, and im getting my presents in Manchester this year so all in all a chilled out holiday.

What about you? :D

^Nice one Mairin^ haha

I'm a total Grinch when it comes to all holidays. Except my birthday. haha...
I'm only buying three people gifts this year. Plus my husky Yoshi (who's far away..) and my kitty Jemma.
But of course i'll buy everyone here a Christmas round when meet to make up for lost holiday time.

I'll probably have to work anyway. ugh.....

Yeah I'm not much of a holiday fan either... Weather aside.
I like making crazy designs with the decorations, but since I'm in an apartment now I couldn't give my middle finger...
It's soo annoying, and yeah, maybe 3-5 gifts total. Pup, rat, Chris, maybe my bro...

No Utah this year, so yeps... Fun stuff.

Well, I should say I love this time of the year, and the holiday itself, I just feel a bit irritated by all these people rushing in the streets and shops, as if the world is going to be over in some minutes... :D

Well so far im the only person who loves Christmas and the holiday, i guess when i was in college i always finished really early, like the 15th December and then wasnt back until 12th January so since i have been working i like to drag out my holidays for maximum amount of relaxing! Plus i just love the Christmas traditions like presents, dinner, family, cheesy films, lying around til 1am and of course Santa Claus.

:D

I'm in grad school and for the first time have an off-campus job, so I have to work most of the holiday season...thus diminishing its attractiveness. It is always good to get to see family though.

I like and enjoy the family gatherings & the festivities of Christmas and of course getting together with friends I don't see during the year. I enjoy the build up but I do not enjoy the shopping beforehand & the pressure of gift selecting. Shopping, apart from books, is never my favorite occupation.

I am not especially religious but I do like the carols and hymns at Christmastime & the Catholic ritual and the feeling of hope & optimism going into the New Year. And, of course, I look forward to the break from work and to some relaxing time.

Then when it's all over I hate the Visa bill & the scales ... but sure we'll worry about that in January.

Forgive the melancholy tone, but...having lost most of my immediate family, the Christmas holiday can be a depressing time for me. However, it does warm my heart to see the younger children delighting in the festivities.

This is my favorite time of year. I love the weather, the people , the snow, the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping. Let's not forget the awesome indulgence in foods and mmmm some Bushmills 16 year old, or hot apple cider with a bit of spice in it. There's also this smell in the air, could be the death and decay of foliage but I prefer to thin of it as that "Holiday" smell. I even like buying gifts for people...and myself. It's just a great time of year.

It's going to be rather routine for our family. Visiting old friends, gatherings, food, play time for the kids, gifts exchange. But yet, i still enjoy the routine things even though we do this every year :)

Well if you are a grinch for buying for just 3 people than we must be the ultimate grinches!!! LOL It just costs too much money to go and buy all the nephews, nieces, sisters, brothers, and parents all presents. Last year we dished out over $500 in Christmas presents alone.

Goodness, Mairin!
I stick with a very subtle $50 (or less if i can find something amazing and cheap.) per person if it's just three people!! If it's more it's $20. Normally we all just hand around gift cards ( all the same price... haha) for eachother and are happily done until next year.
Unless we're talking about mom who buys me the exact same present twice a year. I'm still cinsidering that a giftcard. :D

Did I just hear you right? Haha, he loves something!

Well since I don't have rat anymore sadly... the pup, boyfriend, and probably my bro get a present haha. if i happen across more money, then his girlfriend, maybe a parent or two or something... probably a friend though haha. but for sure the nieces and nephew if possible.
