This book was tremendous. I could not stop reading. This book is set in California in 2041. San Francisco had been evacuated and seriously damaged and the Bay Bridge bombed by the Resistance, or so everyone believes.The government had created the Guardian Force to protect everyone from the Resistance.

Lex is the daughter of a prominent forensic psychiatrist named Victoria Knightley who created an emotion altering drug called Emovere. This drug is what helps the General Ryker create the Guardian Force. This drug lets patients feel little to no fear, so it was perfect to give to recruits.

Lex left home, with a flash drive her mother gave her, to cross the bridge and find the Resistance. Lex runs into an ally Quin who takes her to the headquarters of the Resistance. Once there she uncovers information about the leader of the Resistance as well as the Guardian Force and some of her families secrets. All this information leads her right back home to her mother, with a few new friends.

What exactly are the secrets? What is the Guardian Force really for? You will not want to put this book down. I can't wait to read the next one......
