Unbroken - Laura Hillenbrand

Post by torilane »

This is probably one of the best books I've ever read. If you've seen the movie but not read the book, I will say that I thought the movie did an excellent job of what it did portray, but left out significant portions of this amazing man's life. You didn't quite get the whole story. Louie Zamperini's life was full of stories from beginning to end. This book tells about his family growing up, how he went from troublemaker to track star to Olympian, to his horrific war stories to the life he lived afterward. It goes through phases of humor, hopelessness, intense fear for where he is headed, but ultimately is very uplifting.
