I have never seen the quotes before so I don't think they are necessary. I think the problem occurs when there is a character right after the user name. Here are some examples (I think the first one is correct): @rssllue @rssllue ! @rssllue,

Yes...back to the book! 
I must reiterate that it is very well done by the author and is a very engaging tale! I also do hope that she does indeed write a second one about the Redhead as I would be quite interested in reading more about her.
