Review: Gone by Lisa Gardner

Ex-FBI profiler Pierce Quincy faces his worst nightmare when his estranged wife, Rainie Conner, goes missing. Her car is abandoned on the side of a highway in the wee hours of the morning without even a trace of where she could be. Pierce has to figure out if his wife was kidnapped by someone of their past, present, or even worse: she decided to end it all while in the clutches of alcohol because of her drinking problem. He works with the local authorities, FBI agents and his daughter desperately racing against time to find Rainie. His ex-wife and other daughter were already killed in the past my some other psychopath and struggles with the reality that his loved one may be taken away from him again.

I really enjoyed this book by Lisa Gardner. I thought it was well thought out and kept you wondering who really took her. The way she writes really draws you in and keeps you enthralled. I seriously read this book from front to back without setting it down even once. For me, it was that good. The entire time you are led to believe it was some unknown psychopath who has some kind of revenge plot. When it was revealed in the end who kidnapped her it did feel like it fell a little short because it was not who you would have expected at all but then again that makes it all the more enjoyable I think. I also loved the fact that through all of this Pierce and Rainie both realize that they need each other and shouldn't let what ever problems they have separate them. Although they were separated throughout the whole book, it was clear that they had each other's interest at heart and truly cared for each.

This was really well done by Lisa Gardner. I am a fan of her work and looking to read another one of her books.
