Official Review: Positive Thinking Positive Life: The Mindset by Phil Hunter

Positive Thinking Positive Life: The Mindset is a non–fiction book by Phil Hunter in which the author elaborates his idea that happiness is a choice and how everyone can (and should) chose it. This book is especially dedicated to the ones who feel like they are lost in negative thinking, and would like to explore the positive mindset.

The book is divided into several main chapters and detailed subchapters. In the main chapters, the author defines the most relevant points of his book, like what negativity is, what negative thinking patterns are and how can we reprogram them. Later on, he focuses more on the idea of positivity and how can we find passion in our lives. Although this book deals with demanding ideas, the author still manages to make everything understandable.

“The world can slowly erode you and corrupt your inner child if you let it, the negativity will creep in like damp in an old house and before you know it, you’re that old man or woman at the bus stop complaining about how bad the weather is…”

In the first part of the book, the author writes about negativity, explains what it is, and how it affects us. He explores destructive patterns that we all repeat on regular basis. Every thesis is followed by an example, so we can easily understand Hunter’s important ideas. He uses different daily situations in order to show how our negative thinking creates unnecessary conflicts (like in working area, in relationships). As soon as he clarifies the full meaning of negativity, the author also defines the meaning of positivity.

“The force of positive thinking helps you get the most out of your day – consistently. It is about being excited, keeping your mind concentrated on the important things that matter to you and to create the life you want.”

I especially loved how the author explained why is it so much easier to have negative thoughts than the positive ones. While the author gives us many different negative thinking patterns, he also provides us with solutions. I have enjoyed Positive Thinking Positive Life: The Mindset, but I have to rate it 3 out of 4 stars. Although, Hunter’s writing really is inspiring and comprehending, I have found many formatting and grammatical errors. Nothing one nice editing cannot change. I would recommend this book because it gives plenty of relevant examples, motivating sentences and useful advice. Readers who are interested in this subject will definitely find this book valuable.

Hi KateNox, thank you for the kind review, I'm glad you enjoyed the book. Regarding the formatting and grammatical errors, they are all fixed. I'm new to OnlineBookClub and it said that it usually takes a month for reviewers to start reviewing. So I thought I was being smart by putting up a version that was incomplete, so I could update it once I finalized it, thereby speeding up the review process as I wanted to get some feedback before I released it to the public as it is my first book.

I messaged OnlineBookClub about updating the version and they said, "When you re-upload a new file of the same format as a previous file, it will overwrite the previous file of that format". Unfortunately that did not work and you must have got the old version, so I apologize for that. The issue is now fixed and I have gained some new knowledge and experience about putting books up for review online. :)

Again, thank you for the feedback and I'm glad that you enjoyed it. This was a very positive review and it has made me extremely happy, so thank you for that too.

Regards,

Phil Hunter
