I think that gentle screams are just fine. However, don't scream so loudly that you strain your voice and therefore will be unable to scream later on. Moderate screaming combined with pounding on the book or smacking it onto a table top is always beneficial. Just don't upset the cat.

Sometimes I do move my mouth when I read. It helps me out when thinking about what I'm actually reading.

Well, that's possible, since broiled fish seem to provide the impetus. Thus far it's not been established that the hairs move in accordance with which genre is being read.

Yes, I'm quoting myself. Which is not quite the same as dating yourself. If no one will date you, then you have to date yourself.

The dance is obviously the boogie.

I don't move my mouth or whisper when I read, but if a character does something like pursing their lips, and I am really engrossed in the book, then I may or may not do that too.

Yes, I move my mouth when I read if there's loud background noise distracting me.

Distracting elements around me causes me to pull deeper within my shell and go totally zombie silent. Not only no lips moving, no other movement at all. Stasis.

I don't mumble or whisper when reading. I do however mumble cow whenever I pass a cow, completely involuntarily.

I don't read out loud, unless if it's the perfect sentence or maybe a word that, I have rarely used and want to say it properly. Maybe a name as well if it's new to me. Otherwise, I read in my head.

I don't move my mouth, but I always bite the inside of my lips when I'm reading. It helps me stay focused.

If I'm really sucked into the story at a particular point in the book I might mouth the words a little..or I often find my jaw going slack so my mouth hangs open a little :lol2: sometimes I catch my mind reading too quickly for me to comprehend what is happening in the book so I force myself to slow down and will whisper the words to myself until I get back on track.

If I were to "pass" a cow I'd be yelling, not mumbling. ha ha

cj, I think I understand what you're saying, but for me it's a little different.

When I'm buzzing along in my reading -- I'm a very fast reader --- I may read and understand the text and that's fine, but sometimes I'll go back to a particularly eloquent passage to savor the writing, the texture of the words, the rhythm of the writing. I may not real aloud but I'll read slower, to "taste" the words.
