Rachel is a commuter who takes the same two trains both morning and night. Passing the same houses daily she imagines the lives these people live, adding some excitement to her day. There is a particular couple that she sees everyday on their terrace. Rachel gives them the names Jason and Jess. She feels as though she knows this couple just by simply observing them daily and making up a life for them in her mind. Everything changes one day when she realizes she hasn't seen Jess. Rachel learns that 'Jess' is missing. Rachel gets herself fully involved within the investiagation. Her life is never the same!

This is a suspenseful book that I struggled to put down! The characters are very well developed which made it possible for me to feel what they were feeling. I enjoy books that I feel I am a character within it. I love that the story is told from three perspectives. This makes it easy to get information from every angle. I was shocked by the direction the story went. I would definitely give this book 5 stars and recommend anyone to read it!!
