Has anyone ever read one review here and then read a completely different review by the same person on Amazon? Does that happen a lot?

Official site reviews are exclusive to OnlineBookClub.org, meaning one cannot post them on another website. So if someone wants to post on another site, he needs to write a different review of the book.

There Once Lived a Girl Who Seduced Her Sister's Husband, and He Hanged Himself: Love Stories by by Ludmilla Petrushevskaya, Anna Summers, and Bette Davis Eyes by Mickie Bolling-Burke. The member has them as four-star books on his shelf here and then has given negative reviews on Amazon.

Are you talking about official reviews or informal ones? Not all the books on the shelves are books one got here for review. Members can add their own books to the shelves.

Only official site reviews are exclusive to OnlineBookClub.org and can't be publish elsewhere.

Can you give me links to those books (on the shelves)?

The reviews on OBC were informal. I was told that my review - Bette Davis Eyes - wasn't up to the OBC quality and was being reassigned. The reviewer who chose my short story put up an informal, positive review that has been removed. I have a screen print of it, but it's removed from the forums.

NOTE: I recived a message - I can't post a url link to show you the shelves with the books showing the 4 stars - I am not authorized.

It also shows a 4 stars of the book by Ludmilla Petrushevskaya, Anna Summers. I can't find the comment on that now, but it was a comment by that member, not a review by them.

I submitted my book to OBC for a review, with the understanding that it would be reviewed on OBC. On the negative Amazon review he said he had received my book for free - and my book has not been offered for free anywhere. I tracked him down and he got the book from here.

I can't put a link in my messages - I got a message telling me to remove, and now my reply to you is under moderation. My book received an informal review. I was told it didn't match the quality of OBC so was being submitted to another reviewer. My book was submitted for review on this site - he says on Amazon that he received it for free and my story has never been offered for free. I traced his name back to here. I was told that reviews on this site would stay on this site.

I don't know how he received the other book, but it is on his 4 star shelf also.

Informal reviews are not subject to the site rules and user can post them in various forums.

I reached out to Scott on the Indie FB page and he doesn't answer. I guess that answers my question - I guess there is nothing in place to protect members from having that happen, I'm the only one this has happened to and it looks like nobody wants to touch this very stinky situation.

I came here because I believe in this site, I believe the reviewers are good at what they do and this is a good place to make friends - writing can be lonely . I thought the reviewers were already vetted - when I approach someone myself for a review I read others they've written to understand their style. I never thought something like this would happen here, and then that I would be ignored.
