I use to be an avid reader! But with a 6 yr old and a newborn at home it sometimes makes it a little hard. So my goal for the year is a book a month or 12 books for the year! Got to start somewhere. :D

I like the idea of setting goals for reading! I am new to this website so in the next little while I will figure it all out and set a reading goal or two for myself. My personal life has taken a few positive twists and turns lately, so I feel that my reading patterns will change to reflect these changes. My goals will reflect educating myself on these matters as well as the pleasure reading that I have done my entire life.

My goal is 100 book this year (originally 80), and so far I'm at 12% :text-woo:

Good luck with the higher goal! I originally set mine for 75, then upped it to 80, which will be way more than I read last year (if I make it :shifty: ).

I've set myself the smaller goal of hitting the tens each month (I made 10% in January, and I just hit 20% today), which will keep me pushing for the end goal! :happy-partydance:

It may also allow me to surpass my goal :mrgreen2:

Thank you!! Here's to hoping! I've had a lot of changes recently, so I've slacked in reading a bit. However, I'm picking it right back up. I've finished two books this past week, so here's to hoping! I've never done 100, so we'll see :D

That's a really good idea - hitting the tens each month...hm...I may have to adopt this idea, if that's cool with you 8)

Going by the tens goal will definitely help you surpass your goal! I'll try to catch up sooner rather than later. It's funny, on Goodreads, it says I"m actually 2 books behind at this point. It's also based on reading 100 books this year. I think I can easily catch up to that, though! Fingers crossed!

As I'm babbling a bit, I believe Onlinebookclub has expanded my reading range tremendously. I've been reading books that I don't think I would normally find on my own or even consider picking up, which I'm absolutely loving! :D

I had a lofty goal of reading a book a week, however since I haven't made reading a priority in the past couple of decades since I started my family and began working for myself, that might just be too ambitious. Now my children are all grown and I am involved with a new business venture, one in which the doors are closed and locked at 5pm, I thought I would cut my reading goal by half, so 26 books this year. If I do infact hit that goal I intend to double it for next year.

TL:DR 26 books this year

Adopt away 8)
And I agree about picking books you wouldn't have normally considered. This place has a way of pushing one out of comfort zones, and I'm very happy to be pushed, prodded, and poked

Also, I just hit 21%!!!

My reading goal for 2016 is 150 books. I have read 32 so far. I am new here. Is it possible for me to add the books I have already read to my shelves?
