Anyone read Wool? I have to say the 1st installment of Wool was one of the best pieces of writing I have read in years...

Shocked to see there is not more discussion on this series. I agree, this is some of the best writing I have read in a very long time. You want to get to the end so you know the outcome but, really, I wish it could have gone on forever. One of my top 10 of the last decade.

I also agree. I was put off by the title at first but a friend recommended Wool to me repeatedly and enthusiastically, so I picked it up when it was on sale. I was blown away by the depth of social commentary and the relationships between characters! And the plot was gripping.

Definitely in agreement about the title being a bit of a put-off. I only decided to read it when I ended up getting it as a free e-book. So glad that I decided to actually dive in though. The characters were great and I loved the conflict.

This is one of my favorite book series. The characters and the story pulled me in instantly and I wasn't able to put the books down!

I agree, I came across this on my kindle for my free book of the month and read them each so fast that I was miserable waiting for the first of the month. I have since read more from Hugh Howey and continue to love his characters. My next favorite is Sand and closely followed by Half Way Home.

This book/series is amazing. And like was already pointed out, the first installment is one of my favorite pieces written... ever.
Let me add that I have recently finished his Beacon 23 set and this I would even put above Wool.
