This Song Will Save Your Life by Leila Sales *minor spoilers

I picked up this book in my library and read it through in one sitting, which I rarely do anymore. It's hard to find the time. But this book, although it is a bit all over the place with emotions, and sorting out the direction it wants to take, is amazing. The main character, Elise, isn't necessarily an immediately like-able character, which makes the book much more of an interesting ride. However, I feel like she grows in the book, and you connect and grow with her. It took a few directions I didn't expect, although I sort of saw Char coming. I expected Pippa to be more of a prominent character, but Vicks was my absolute favorite character, and Harry was right up there. Mel...Alex...too many characters I adored to count. Wasn't Alex just the cutest, though?!. Chava and Sally appear to be pretty silly and air-headed, but this book showed a glimpse into the humanness of everybody, and the inherent flaws of every single person. It was an interesting and touching read, and I would strongly recommend this book. But if you do read it, I recommend putting aside a little time for it, because to read only this book at a certain time or in a couple sittings would be ideal. It's the kind of book that deserves and needs that. :)

This book made me start reading realistic fiction which I never did. Also there is a list of songs in the back of the book and a lot of them I now listen to. I'm glad i took the time to read this book.
