I end my day by reading, and love the idea of putting a number of the books I can try to read. I am going to aim for 150 books per year - as I read about three books a week now. :-)

Really?? 3 books a week? Amazing! You are lucky to have free time to yourself

I don't so much have a set number of books that I want to read this year, but before the year is out I really want to make it through the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy along withThe Hobbit and the Silmarillion by J.R.R Tolkien. I have tried multiple times in the past and have been unsuccessful, however this will be the year that I succeed.

This sounds like so much fun! I like goals and tasks I get to log and cross off lists, so this is right up my alley. :) 100 and too big to b start. I'll try 75 a year.

My original goal for this year was to read 60 books but now I've changed it to a 100. I am already on 30 so I wanted to challenge myself a bit more. Also I'm trying to read 3 books a week, sometimes I manage to do sometimes not, but I don't really stress about that so much because I'm reading mostly for fun. :)

My best friend and I are doing a reading challenge for the year of 2016-2017. We have 35 books to read and we picked out books that both of us are interested in! I am determined to finish this list of books by 2018 if not before!

My reading goal this year is 60 books with at least 5 non-fiction and 1 biography. I'm up to 12 so far this year!

I am finding my own goal of 40 books pretty difficult to achieve, even this early in the year and I originally wanted to set my goal as 100.
Every time I want to pick up a book, I realize that I have something more important to do - finish this essay, study for this test, go to class. University is ruling my life right now.
So I guess I should turn off the laptop now and actually get some reading done while I can.

I don't like to put my goal in the quantity, but rather challenge myself to read things that I would probably not chose for myself normally, books that open the window to a time, place, journey that I am currently oblivious to. We can learn so much from books, and with such a range in book lengths, writing styles, subjects, etc., my goal is simply to be open, and gain insights into new and old hardships, adventures, romances, and mysteries.
