Healing Cancer, Heart Disease, and More by Jerry Rhine

Post by booklover1 »

Jerry is a multiple heart attack survivor and stroke survivor. He suffers from brain damage and struggles with memory, organization, and other cognitive functions-he has damage to the frontal lobe of his brain. He earned his Master of Social Work Degree from New York University in 2004 while he was diagnosed with cancer. His recovery and remission is amazing!

He was first diagnosed with prostate cancer and later with B-cell non-Hodgkins’s Lymphoma, stage 3. He is a 20 year survivor from his multiple heart attacks and a 10 year survivor from his cancer. He received his certification as a Jewish Healer and Recovery Support Specialist. He is a speaker to both religious and civic groups regarding coping with life changing illnesses. He provides strategies to empower ill individuals and their families.

His focus is:

-Use Imagery to heal-it is a tool of your imagination and subconscious. Cognitive therapy uses words.
-Imagery can be used to invoke positive emotions, can change your negative mood. Imagery techniques can improve the quality of life of the one who is ill during and after treatment.
-Imagery uses all the senses. Focus on something that invigorates memories from the past or see positive events in the future. Focus on positive emotions, create your own photograph, painting, sculpture, movie or visual in your mind. Bring all your senses into it; smell, touch, hearing, visual, and taste.
-Optimism, introspection, seek what you want. Remember knowledge is power. Recapture the curiosity you had as a child.

His book focuses on:

-Self-love
-Happiness
-Self-esteem
-Courage
-Willingness to adjust
-Compassion
-Laughter
-Gratitude
-Energy
-Spirituality
-Faith
-Connection
-Meditation

This book is based on the concept – The emotions in the mind creates physiological changes in the body, both positive and negative. Focusing on positive imagery changes the chemicals in neurotransmitters resulting in empowering the immune system. This has the potential to reverse physical and emotional disease.

The book is inspirational and small enough that it is not overwhelming to one who is struggling with their own health issues or perhaps there is a family member or friend who is struggling with health issues. I recommend you take a look.
