Dear v.i.p
through your bones,
along your arms.
spreading like warm butter on bread.
your love spreads across your face,
you look more tired now,
more than you did before.
but i’m glad you’re still you.
still here.
your love spreads a lot like dying.
maybe it is.
maybe you are dying.
maybe this is the first time i’ve let myself write it down.
maybe i’m still not ready for it to be real.
do you remember that puzzle we did?
we put the whole world together with our own hands.
now it feels like it’s falling apart.
you will be missed, you will be loved.
don’t ever think we’ll leave you behind.
