Demon Storm, Book 5 Belador Series, by Dianna Love

Post by L_C_P »

I was definitely looking forward to reading book five of the Belador Series. Dianna Love had been writing it with Sherrilyn Kenyon, but has now taken ownership of the series. The previous books had an interesting plot, ran at a good pace, and had the perfect amount of romance (Note for younger readers...when I say romance, I mean graphic romance).

Once one reached a few chapters into the book, the reading was run. However, the first few chapters didn't transition well from the previous books. To jump into a series, one must expect to play a bit of plot catch-up. However, I had read the rest of the series, and even I had to stop a second to think about the way the different scenes jumped around.

I did like how the climax flowed quickly and purposefully, but still held believability. Some authors in this genre like to speed through that part, as is they are relieved they've made it that far in the book. Not so here...you felt like the situation was resolved...but its twist did leave room for another book.

And, though it has no bearing on the story, I was distracted by the cover. The description of Evalle was tall and extremely athletic. A strong and capable woman is not who was chosen for the cover. That bothered me a bit because I find skinny-limbed to be a very different kind of person than strong and capable.

Overall, good story and enjoyed the book.
