I'm actually trying to turn that one into a novel, too. I'm about halfway finished with it, but it'll take some time. One of these days...

I remember the blurb for This Jerkwater Life looked interesting. Good luck with the novel. :)

Already commented, but now it is the BOTH! It's great the poems have a nice, rhythmic flow, and that you were moved by it. Congratulations to the author on that and on the great review! :tiphat:

I don't normally read poetry books (maybe I've been turned off due to English class assignments...) but this sounds tangible and entertaining. Great review!

I thought your name sounded familiar!

Yes, I've had a few books on here: The Cloud Seeders, The Korean Word For Butterfly, Brailling For Wile, The Tree Poachers and Other Stories, This Jerkwater Life. I can't seem to stop writing them. Ha.

Excellent review

I already commented too, but it's BOTD, so...here's another comment! :)

I think it's so powerful when a teacher is an author too. It sends such a positive message to the students and it is very inspiring. How lucky are Mr. Zerndt's students to have him as a teacher! :)

Thanks everyone for the kind words! What I really liked about this book were the fresh observations the author makes about ordinary subjectst.
