What a nice review. It reminds of a guest speaker that came to my school when I was a kid with a similar story about abandonment and birth complications. His story has always stuck with me, this many years later. It sounds like a very moving story.

Your review, hsimone, conveys genuine feeling that obviously correlates to the writing of the author, Howard Shulman. I admire so much the courage and perseverance this man must have to fortify his self-esteem in the face of tiresome and ignorant behavior by others. Mr. Shulman is a hero, and I congratulate him for sharing his life as an inspiration and to remind people to be brave.

I previously posted a comment when this review was first published, but I just wanted to say congratulations to the author on being Book of the Day and receiving a glowing review. What a moving, inspiring story.

Thank you everyone for your kind words! I hope I did this memoir justice. For those who give it a shoot, I hope you find it enjoyable and inspirational like I did! :)
