The Thickety; A Path Beging, By: J.A. Whit

Post by DevinMcKenna »

I loved this book! I read only the prologue, and it was SO compelling, that I felt like I absolutely HAD to read the rest! By the time I reached the second chapter, I was a bit wary of the book. I hoped that maybe the story would start to be more interesting, and maybe even make sense. I wanted to finish though, I have a friend who read it, and she said that it was amazing! After reading another couple of chapters, I was hooked! I literally could not put this book down. In the end though, I was mad that I didn't get the second book at the library. This book is a mix of action, adventure, magic, and suspense! If you read it, pull through the bad beginning. You won't regret reading this compelling story of a girl named Kara, living through the trials of life! :techie-studyingbrown: :techie-reference: :techie-studyinggray:

I am assuming you meant to submit your review of The Thickety as a separate topic? This topic is about the review of The Student Council. Hope this helps.

I listened to the A Path Begins audiobook and perhaps that was why I felt it was sooooo looonnngg. It was interesting in the beginning and even into the middle - I love the idea of a mysterious wood and whether or not magic is real and Kara discovering her past and navigating life as an outcast, but it went on for a bit too long. Obviously I wasn't super pumped to keep on reading the series, but as a reader I am usually content to just read the first book in a series. I have to really be invested to seek out the rest of the series.
