I already commented, but I wanted to add that the use of historical events and figures, as well as the character using his gift to help his country, makes the story unique. I can definitely see this story as being a good idea for a TV show.

It's funny I've heard that from quite a few people, and they always ask "who do you see playing the main character?" And I always say I haven't a clue. I can think of actors/actresses to play all the other characters, but not John Calabrace. He's quite a tangled soul

Based on your review, I have added this to my "want to read" shelf. I enjoy historical backdrops in almost any genre. I am just hoping the story doesn't keep me up at night as it sounds chilling.
Life without a good book is something MrsCatInTheHat cannot imagine.

The author is detailed oriented giving us an explanation for each and every topic and I love that. It may seem to drag on at first but when you give it a chance it starts to flow and you get into it. Soon you won't be able to put it down. Good work to the author.

Really thank you all on your feedback on this project. I'm sure you hear the term "labor of love" over used, but it truly was one for me. The great (and lucky) thing for me was that I took kimmyschemy06 review to heart, as well as other feedback, and changed things around a bit to what I think was a better final project.
I didn't remove any details, as to me they were part of his story, but did have an English Lit professor do an edit for me and correct the spelling/grammatical errors, and changed 4 of the chapters to give it a better flow. I think the first chapter especially needed some TLC to grip the audience more, as well as three others that needed a better definition to them.
A big thanks to all of you though. Constructive feedback is something we all need (whether we want to admit it or not). In a small way an indie book created on Amazon or any of the other self published platforms, is it's like a new painting. You can still fill in the missing colors you might have missed on the first go round, when people provide you a better perspective on what they see.

Your review was very thorough and honest. I too have read a lot of books that have great story lines but seem to drag on forever going over details that aren't really necessary to the plot. Keep up the good work!
