1) for sure!! Your review was very thorough, which is what I look for in a review. It gave me a clear picture of how the book was. I look forward to read it myself!

I absolutely love turn of the century stories like this, and you have sold me in your review!! One thing I can't wait to read is how she puts the bully in his place without him realizing it :) Thank you!!!

Very detailed review outlining what you liked or didn't like so much which is very helpful to potential readers. It sounds like an interesting read.

This review seems really well-balanced. I love the undertones of feminism and the historical reality of how genders played out in the early 1900s, and it makes a good combination! I also watch a lot of those Lifetime movies, so I totally know what you're talking about there.

Since it was the free book of the day I started reading a bit (through chapter 1), and while I was torn on whether it was going anywhere, now that I've read your review I'm more interested in the rest.

1) No, it's great. I really enjoyed reading it, honest and good reviews are always hard to find in such a vicious world. The book seems interestant. I've find that the closest thing we have to feel like if we were in the past is by reading this kind of novels, putting ourselves in the shoes of the people in that time, and feeling their struggles trough the magic of reading a well documented author. Thank you I really loved your review.

The review made me interested in reading the whole story. It was a bit long as a review, but all of the information was very useful in my decision to move this book higher on my tbr list.

This really sounds like a book I would enjoy, especially since I love historical fiction. Hattie sounds like a strong character. I enjoy stories with strong female characters. Great review!

Note: Lunch was often referred to as dinner in the early 20th century and supper was the word used for the evening/night meal.

I read the beginning of this book for Book of the Day, and I hear you when you write about problems being wrapped up too quickly and neatly. That was my impression at the end of the first chapter when Hattie prepares to leave for her new job instead of getting married.

Also, your review is great, and I didn't mind the length at all. Sometimes, there's just more that needs saying.
