Great review. It sounds emotional and heart aching. Can you imagine having to deal with all these fears at such as young age? It sounds like the reader gets to experience the effect a debilitating disease can have on children.

Thats not a "Normal" name for a character but I guess the author was trying to be peculiar, the books looks intriguing and I bet we all can relate to the characters somehow. Your review was excellent, I'm glad how you described the story without giving many spoilers.

Wow, this sounds like a very emotional story. I'm trying to put myself in Normal's shoes and just thinking about it makes me appreciate my own life so much more. Great job on the review!

The book sounds like an emotional read. I read the sample and now your review. I'm going to put this on my list and head over to Amazon to pick it up. Thank you for the interesting review. I appreciate knowing that I might be a bit disappointed by the ending. Expecting that will help it be less jarring .

This sounds like a very complex and emotional read. I'm not sure I can take the sadness. Thanks for the detailed review.

wonderful review.the book can be related on the level that there wouldn't be any person on earth who has not had to endure pain and lost dear ones at some point in their lives.the book focuses on a mere teenager, so the magnitude of the loss seems greater, because of having lost his parents at such a young age and having trouble coming to terms with it...seems like a wonderful book

Thank you for your review. This certainly does seem like an interesting novel. It's too bad that the ending seems rushed though. I've found that with several books I've read and it is always a disappointment.

This sounds like a very interesting, albeit heartbreaking, read! I'm curious, though, as to why parents would give their child a name like Normal. That aside, this book sounds like great insight to those living with family members who have ALS and seems like it could shed some light on the disease (even though it is not the main focus).

So many times when those we love pass away, learning to cope or deal with the after affects of death isn't something we've had formal training in. Books like this seem to be a type of therapy and hope that life goes on after loss. And, whether its good or bad, learning to see that they are not alone in feeling the way they do, is a step in the right direction. It seems especially good that Normal is a teen with real-life issues experienced at one time or another by other teens. This book seems to be a great help to teens who may not have many around to talk to or help them through such an ordeal. Congrats to the author on what sounds like an amazing book and on being chosen for BOTD!!
