Yessssssss. I have always loved this movie and I just read the book and it's a tie for me, I think I love the book and movie equally.

One of my top favorite movies ever is Doctor Zhivago but I have never read the book. So it's *technically* my favorite book-to-movie adaptation I guess.

Pet Sematary might be my *actual* favorite b-t-m-a, I liked the movie and the book but the movie probably more. The scenes with Zelda in the movie freak me out so bad to where I have to sleep with the lights on for days after watching it, nothing in the book freaked me out THAT bad. Plus in the book it's the cursed land that possesses the characters to bury their dead in it whereas in the movie you're under the impression that it's solely despair that's driving Louis to bury his son and wife in it, and I happen to find the latter more disturbing. However the scene where Jud is talking about the father who back-in-the-day brought his son back to life was creepier in the book than it was in the movie.

Anna Karenina. The movie is exactly the way I have imagined while reading. Great movie.

The Lathe of Heaven was very good, as I recall; but there are far more disappointing adaptations...

One of my favorite is Goblet of Fire. It was by far the best on the series of the Harry Potter books. It's been a long time since I've read the LOTR books, but I seem to remember the adaptation being pretty great.

I like the Ender's Game adaptation and The Giver. People don't like them because the characters are older in the movie but I think it didn't affect it that much.

I'm quite fond of Elmore Leonard's "Out of Sight." The movie took some creative liberties, but it really paid off and rivals even the novel.

Bridges of Madison County. The movie was just as fantastic as the book, and having Meryl Streep and Clint Eastwood as the two main characters was perfect!

I loved the first Hobbit movie. Of the three, it stayed truest to the book. For me, given that it's one of my most-favorite books, that was a very big deal.

I think Water for Elephants was pretty true to the book and done very well. I still prefer that book though. I think the ONLY movie I have ever liked more than the book was The Princess Bride.
