I am in love with traveling. It is a humbling experience: you meet new people, eat their food and live the way they do. This book allows you to live this experience without you having to actually leave the comfort of your bed. The main character is forced out of her comfort zone in order to solve her aunt's mystery. It is beautiful how Johnson has her character leave behind her phone, laptop, and map. The character has to discard everything that connects her to the world in order for her to really experience the places she visits. Johnson makes traveling extremely personal. The character is alone in most of the book, and this is fantastic as it helps her create an identity for herself. This book is definitely a must read for young adults.
I read this book a long time ago but I remember reading it really fast to get to know what was in all the envelopes. I also remember really enjoying the story. I would definitely recommend this book to fans of YA novels.
I felt like this book was a fun read. It was exciting discovering what was in each envelope and the adventure was enjoyable, I definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys YA literature.

Awe I always remember reading this when I was about 13 too. I used to love the public library and happened to stumble upon it one day. It was a worthwhile read and it did impact me for a bit. It always stuck with me for the good writing and the leads memorable journey.
