This is a interesting look at a coming of age novel with fantasy mixed in makes it way more enticing.

This looks like a good book for the fantasy-liking teen. I wonder what the role of Jazz, the cat, in this story will be, as she is on the cover. Thanks for the review.

Having read the sample, I would say the author does a very good job of developing characters and settings. The characters were believable

The plot runs smoothly in general. Some of the scenes might have seen more elaboration. The two proofreading errors in the sample were minor and not very distracting.

The target audience is clearly teenage girls, although others would enjoy the book as well. Frankly, as a 67 year old dude I found the sample a good read.

I don't think this one is going on my list, but it sounds like with a little more attention to detail, it could potentially appeal to a lot of people! Congratulations on a great review!

The book sounds interesting. Thank you for adding your flaw indicators. They may not be flaws to everyone but they certainly give the reader a real idea of what to expect. I find that to be more helpful than glowing, "the book is perfect", reviews. I also like how it leads to others impressions of the book in the thread.
