I'm a big horror and paranormal fiction lover. It really depends on my mood though! I also like discovering new authors!

FAIRY-TALES!! I practically look for retelling of fairy-tales every time I can't find a good book to read. They have happy endings, handsome heroes, beautiful heroines, and just the right amount of action. The sum of a perfect book.

My go to genre would be romance or non-fiction. However I enjoy almost all genres except fantasy or Sci-Fi . I don't like them because I like realism. I want my books to follow the laws of the world as we currently know it.

I love thrillers and mysteries. I've been hooked on who-done-it since Nancy Drew. But lately, I've been diving into classics.

My go-to genre is contemporary romance. I love happy endings and the developments of new relationships explored in the genre. My husband is actually quite romantic, but with a one year old, it's difficult to find 'us' time. Reading romances allows me to experience the emotions that come with new relationships, and to revisit how I felt when I was falling in love.

My favorite genre is Syfy Fantasy. It plucks my soul from the real world and puts it into a place that can't possibly real. Even though I often find myself wishing that our reality were filled with vampires, witches and werewolves. The power that books have on people is the opportunity of escape. I can turn on the T.V and watch the news for most current events, open a news paper to read about murder and even grab a history book to learn about past events. But a good book to me is one that allows me to feel as though my reality is none existent and makes me question the idea that there may be other "beings" that live among us.

I love any type of fantasy or historical fiction. I've been trying to get into more non-fiction... but I simply don't find it as enjoyable. I'm not huge on books that are solely romance either. Of course most books involve some sort of romance, but it doesn't do it for me when it's the main focus of the book.

I love fantasy books too and it is certainly my go to but if I get a little bit tired of fantasy then I go after some books with LGBTQ+ characters :)

What I read depends on the type of mood I am in. I love a good fiction historical drama! I also like a good trilogy, because then I know the book isn't going to end fast!

My go to genre would have to be mystery/suspense novels.

For me it is a great cure for boredom. I love this genre because it keeps me guessing and fighting sleep to see what happens next.

I always go back to fantasy and post-apocalyptic, even though I know how cliche it can be.

My most often go-to genre is hands down paranormal romance! Although I'll read anything from horror to mystery, paranormal romance novels are the ones I'll always pick up first. I once read a book about the abuse a little boy suffered at the hands of his mother, it was an amazing book and one the stuck with me all these years but its real. There are people that suffer as this boy did all over the world every second and it weights too heavily on my heart. I couldn't imagine reading books like that all the time. I prefer a world that isn't real when I read, I've got the real world covered in my own life and don't need anymore thank you very much. Everyone likes a good love story but I don't want to be one of those people that read romance novels wishing they had a love story like those, its unrealistic and I could easily become one of those people that tells my husband "Why can't you be more like so and so". Paranormal romance is a safe getaway leaving no room for me to project the contents on my real life. I do love when real history is incorporated into the story line like in Diana Gabaldon's Outlander but time travel isn't real so no lines are blurred, I can read and enjoy it but when I put the book down I don't find myself wishing I was Claire. Don't get me wrong time traveling would be awesome and I'd love a big hunking highlander but I don't live in a fantasy world. I know a few people that expectations in their lives were gained from reading a fictional romance novel. Most of my favorite books are in this genre but a few other favs were genres that I didn't think that I would like. That's the beauty of reading though isn't it? Being able to read according to your mood but always having that comfort genre that can take you on an amazing adventure?
