Quite honestly, this is not my type of book. I do not usually get into the sci to genre, but this is one I would be willing to give a chance. The idea of what could happen if global warming is not prevented, is very intriguing. Thank you for the well written and informative review!

The novel incorporates issues such as doomsday weapons, mutually assured destruction, preemptive strikes, espionage, civil war, artificial intelligence, faith in the wisdom of nature, climate change, bioengineering, genetic manipulation, suicide, genocide, mind control, and most of all, revenge and its consequences.

Wow! A lot of that interests me, but I try to never read series out of order.

I have not read the preceeding book and it was a little much trying to get a grasp of the characters, their background and the overwhelming amount of subject matter. The thought that went through my mind almost immediately was that if revenge ruled then Earth and it's inhabitants would devolve to where it started...primordial ooze crawling out of the water. If one believes that!

First of all, thank you for such a detailed review.
I have read the first pages in the sample available at Amazon and I really enjoyed it. I appreciate the fact that although the novel belongs to the SF genre, it's not all about technology . In fact, I could see nature plays an important role in it, and as I have read from your review, there are certain values exposed in this book, which makes it easier to get close and empathize with the story.

Such a nice work of art.
