I'm not a fan of ghost stories but well done on the review! I think the historical connection is interesting.

Thanks for the great review. It seems that the book deals more on the life of Paul as a widower raising his kids. He had an awful hard time forgetting his wife. But the house he is going to sell and its history could take this demon away from him, I guess. I would like to finish reading the story. Congratulations to the author for BOTD.

I'm not typically a fan of ghost stories, but it sounds like the ties between present and past might help this one be more than a creepy, spooky thrill. Of course, I'm glad you were able to enjoy the story so much with the traditional ghost story elements (cold spots, etc.) all present and accounted for. Great review!

I just read the sample and it grabbed my attention from the very beginning! This is going to be added to my "to read" list. Right off the bat the main character Paul is dealing with so many emotions over the loss of his wife. I am very interested in what happens throughout the book!

I thought this sounded great so I downloaded it back in July. It definitely sounds like a book I would like. Thanks for the detailed and thoughtful review!

Congrats on the great review! I'm not a huge fan of ghost stories but mysteries do intrigue me. Seems like this one has a smooth flow too!

Great review! This sounds like a great ghost story. My favorite part is the author incorporating both the past and the present; it makes the story even more interesting. Congratulations to the author for receiving such a positive review!

Thanks for the insightful review. It sounds like a book that grabs you as it unfolds on various levels. I like how you were able to see the author's connection between the demons in the house and the relation to the character Paul's personal demons that he was battling.
I'm glad that you found it an easy read, and I'm sorry the ending was disappointing, but it does make me curious about what happened. So thanks for not spoiling it for me! ; -)

Congrats on BOTD!
