This for me changes at time to what is in the book. For example when I rad a book that has perhaps tuna casserole in it I have to make tuna noodle casserole. If they are drinking wine like with the latest Nora Roberts series I read I had a glass of wine at night while I read them.

I drink water and I usually snack on something. Is it bad that something is most oftentimes the Brookstone Dark Chocolate Covered Pomegranate Pieces?

Nothing. I don't want to spill or get crumbs in my book.

I usually have a can of mountain dew and doritos, if I have anything. It never fails. Granted, I usually end up with crumbs all over my shirt, but that is okay! There are times when I'm reading that I feel the urge to cook something specific, especially if it's soup/stew in the book.

Usually hot chocolate and croissant, one of the very few vices. I could eat pastries all day, and have to really hold myself back sometimes. I like them when I'm reading, for some reason, it makes the experience more fun.

I love any type of sweet vegan treat with tea, but I think my favorite would be some rawnola with a banana, strawberries, blueberries, and almondmilk. Careful, though, cereal isn't always the best to eat with a book (or whilst in the tub..)

Charlottehains wrote:Hi everyone,

I am new I am an author and avid reader. last week I interviewed another author and one of the questions i asked was. What is your favourite food and drink when reading? so here I am going to ask the same question and then add to it.

What is you favourite food and drink when reading, do you like to cook or bake something that is silky and delicious, and does your food and drink change with the genre you are reading?

thanks all

That is a super interesting question. I love to drink tea when I'm reading, but generally when I'm writing I forget to eat and drink.

I like to drink coffee and snack on cookies, cereal, or pretzels. I generally don't eat while reading, mostly because I'm afraid I'll get food on the pages, but snacking while reading is sometimes necessary.

Well, when reading on my phone a yummy chicken salad sandwich on a crescent is great, or a chicken biscuit. While just reading paper back pretzel sticks fare well. Drink wise Ice Tea is always fantastic or a juice of some sort. :D
