I'm interested in this book, and I actually bought it based on the positive reviews, but I really hope it doesn't get too preachy with the subject of faith. Thanks for the insightful review.

It sounds really interesting, although I'm not into gory scenes. I think I can handle it though. Your review was very detailed! I have a lot to learn from incredible reviewers like you!

Thanks for the enlightening review. It is amazing how a man can lose his faith for personal reason but it does yet the character had to look back to his faith as the only way to gain back his sanity. Congratulations to the author for BOTD.

Fantasy horror isn't necessarily my favorite genre, but I love it when a book is so gripping that it demands your attention right away and doesn't let it go. I also anticipate that purely friendship between the male and female main characters will be a breath of fresh air. I'm surprised to be looking forward to sampling this book after all!

I read the prologue and it left me wanting more! I agree with this reviewer! The author did an excellent job of descriptive writing. I, too, felt the anguish of the Reverend, the fear of the guards, and the personality of Freida. This reviewer also made me eager to find a copy of the book and continue reading. I am visiting my local library tomorrow and will look for this book. I hope it is available! I want to read it!

I really enjoyed this part. I read the prologue and it had me wanting more. I'm not that much of a fan of horror but I actually enjoyed this. I loved every minute of it and it was a very easy read.

I cannot wait to read the whole book of Raven's Peak by Lincoln Cole as I love horror. This time of year is my favorite for these style books.

Glad you enjoyed it, supernatural and horror are not the genres that I particularly enjoy.

To those who have asked about the religious elements of the book, I actually don't enjoy reading about religious issues very much either. Though this book does deal with Haatim struggling with his faith, it never gets preachy or overwhelming. To me it just seemed like a very real reaction to the circumstances he's had in his life and it didn't turn me off from the overall story.
