Belle Ami’s first book Escape in her new Tip of the Spear series is a sexy romantic thriller set in the Middle East. The writer’s passion in this genre makes her produce a novel that have a strong romance storyline and have excellent espionage plotline. Escape tells a significant story that concerns humanity from serious global threats.

Cyrus Hassani, a Mossad mole, also an assistant to the deputy director of Oghab2; tasked to protect Iran’s nuclear enrichment facility, is given mission to rescue feisty, Harvard student, Layla Rose Wallace, who was then on vacation with her Saudi boyfriend in Dubai but both falls to their abduction and taken to Tehran. Cyrus and Layla are facing a life-and-death situation where escape is not possible. Cyrus, who is already involved in a love interest to Layla is in total mess where the last order given completely alarms him – an order to kill Layla if they fail to escape from Iran. Will they able to live and escape, and continue their long-lasting romantic relationship in the end?

I found this fast-paced story great, romantic, and gripping. It is exciting to turn for another page just to know what is next to happen. Belle shares a story that comes alive, a story that makes you feel like you are watching a good film. It is believable as it creates a dream inside the mind of a reader. What I like most in this book it grabs my attention. Belle testing me, as a reader, to decide what to do in that character's situation, especially the place of the heroine. Will I truly trust a dangerous, complete stranger? Maybe or maybe not. In fact, the main characters love story gives me an extreme romantic excitement. I can say the writer provides a good character having great chemistry. Furthermore, all other characters are very well-executed, each of them having important roles and strong connections in the story. The setting never fails to fascinate me. Belle done a detailed research on the places mentioned in the plot, the way she describes them, it’s like a journey.

There are foreign words and phrases inserted along the storyline that makes the dialogue unique. Some are explained in a natural way through character conversation or narrator voice but few without the translations are still a bit annoying. Regardless, it’s not a hindrance for the reader not to understand the story.

The ending is unsatisfying, I think there’s something lacking in the storyline that left it a little hanging, hence, I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. This novel is still worth-reading. I recommend this for reader who enjoys action-packed with a bunch of romance. Note, this has graphic sexual scenes and is not suitable for very young reader.
