Why do girls like shoes or bags?

Post by Butterbescotch »

I know why girls like high heels because it makes their butt bulky and attractive.

Any thoughts?

I don't like high heels.

But generally it's much more complex topic than just nice looking butt.

I like high heels but seldom wear them because I prioritize comfort and safety above being fashionable. I think women like heels because they make legs look longer & consequntly you look slimmer & clothes hang better.
I once read an article by, I think it was Desmond Morris the anthropologist, on his theory of why many men are attracted to women in high heels & tight skirts ... interesting reading - very strange animal the human male!

I think you just have to accept it as one of those female characteristics, its just a fact of life, they love to prance around shops for hours looking for clothes and shoes and jewelery to look gorgeous so the men will fancy them (ahem). Or for personal pride or other such reasons...

Except girls like me... I spend all my time playing video games and watching football... hate high heels, purses (prefer my pocket if i can get away with it), and would actually prefer to be barefoot all the time. I own like... 3 pairs of shoes: 1 pair of sneakers, 1 pair of high heels, and 1 pair of sandals.

My gf is not too bad with shoes but she as this addiction to handbags. I am sure she has over 40 different ones, and I am also sure there are many that she has bought that she has never used once. It drives me crazy and when I approach her about it she says I waste my money on books. Ahhhrrrrr you can't win.

I'm 5'10, so I generally don't wear high heels; I already have the height.

I'm pretty short so heels are useful to me, but I usually choose comfort over fashion (I'd love to wear heels but I lean towards sneakers more). Heels and bags are a pretty normal thing for girls to like and, for me, I like them because of their aesthetic quality and not just to attract men.

My wife had a thing for shoes and handbags. She had enough of both to start her own store but she only used two pairs of the shoes and 3 of the handbags. A girl thing I guess.

Well we women have to keep up with the times, correct? First it was hats and dresses that they had to stay so "up" on as a way to express themselves in times when women weren't aloud an opinion. It was the only thing they had their own say on, and then only the lucky ones were able to. Now, after sooo long of bloodlines of nothing but women accessorizing, they have to keep going with the punches. It's like a very long restlessness, if you will, a "If you dont accesorize your not expressing yourselves" feeling. Therefore, in this day in age, calls for bags and shoes. Atleast thats my point of view for it.
