Wonderful review! Thank you so much. :-) This sounds like a beautifully written piece of historical fiction. The characters and plot seem very well developed allowing the reader to become part of another world. Congratulations, Batya Casper!

A bit confusing at first, but I was quickly drawn into the story with a few pages. Very interested in finishing this story

It is a nice book that will make me gain a crew about Israel's History and Culture. It sounds an interesting story though with some sad parts. Thanks for the review.

This looks like a very intriguing book. Personally, I don't tend to read too much historical fiction but this seems it could be very thought provoking.

The review brings out triumphant spirit over cultural and racial differences when Orit (an Israel) marries an Arab. The writer’s courage to delve into a topic that is shunned makes the plot stand out and gives an inside view of the relationship on the ground which the media hardly captures. The book is a-must-read!

The book was fair, I am not raving about it. But, for a person that is not Jewish, or Jewish that does not know the politics, social, historical, cultural climate, and the events of the state of Israel, and the middle east. Then this is a good starting point to start reading about the middle east.

Like you, in the Israel - Palestine war, I've always aligned with the latter. So a book that shows the other side sounds very interesting. Thank you for this insightful review.

Israela is a fascinating story. The sample pages are very much inviting. I love the characters of Orit and Ruti because of their unique relationship as sisters and their unique story, full of trials and confusions.
