I'm Trinah, I'm...almost 17 (15 days) and I've been an alcoholic for...no wait. I've never been an alcoholic. I was born in England, lived in NZ, now live in Australia. I read a lot of books, watch a lot of films, listen to a lot of music. My favourite band is Panic! At the Disco, not because I'm a crazy fan girl but because I respect what they've brought to the music industry in terms of lyrics and composition and all that jazz. That's enough of me because I've pretty much run out of everything to say.

Hmm, I thought I'd introduce myself as well... My name is Robin, I live in Boise, Idaho, and no, I do absolutely nothing with potatos, if the question was on your tongue, which I hope it wasn't. :) I'm 24 and still in school... going to finish in art history and maybe work in a gallery. That is, if I haven't become a publishing sensation with my yet to be written novel or a renowned painter myself. :) I'm a server in a sports bar, and love reading, writing, drinking wine, daydreaming, movies, cuddling with my boyfriend (who alas, is not a reader) and just lounging around immersing myself in makebelieve. :)

It's hard to pin down what I like to read. I haven't really read many of the classics and I am not into sci-fi one bit. Otherwise, it's all over. Contemporary literary to some fantasy to mystery. I love beautiful language, and atmosphere.

I love books, and like I read someone else here saying, I love owning books. I am a book buying addict. :) But it makes me happy, so what the hell.

And that is that. Oh, and I do like coffee to, but I'm not gonna lie, I'm not very hardcore about it. :) It needs to be in latte form at least before it happily passes my lips. :) (Oh, and I seem to be addicted to smiley faces as well. Oh well.)

Hello all.

My name is Tyler. I am eighteen currently in High School (unforutnately). I live in Chattanooga, Tennessee. However, I've lived all over this state and South Carolina. I've posted my main goal before in another topic...but my ultimate goal is to become a writer...and to become one of the greatest in history. I've always felt that, if I'm going to make this my goal, I have to work myself to become one of the best ever. I'm have a sort of strong confidence and arrogance about my writing because I often compare mine with others, even great writers, and think mine is better. Then again, creative works are always viewed subjectively due to the many differences in opinion. But, yes, I do get overly confident and I really do not care what anyone thinks.

When I get to college, I mainly want to major in History and work to getting my Ph.D. in it. I also want to work to get a Ph.D. in Philosophy. I also want to study Psychology, Sociology, Literature, Anthropology, and tons of other things.

After that...who knows.

Maybe I'll post some more later since I must go. Adios Amigos

Well hello,

I was sent a link to this site through MySpace, and I must say, very pleased I was led in this direction.

I'm Kath, from Brisbane, Australia. I am a librarian by trade. Please, no need for applause, really *blush*!

I have to admit though, I don't actually work IN the libraries anymore. I now work for library IT, making sure all the stuff IN the libraries actually works. Not to mention the stuff out there that the public can see, like our online catalogue and databases. Sounds kind of boring I know, but really, I get to play with all the new toys that libraries are branching out into first, and it's heaps of fun.

But it all comes down to my passion for reading. I love it, have always loved it. Learnt to read at a very young age, and haven't stopped since. I'll read almost anything. My mother used to always joke that I'd read toilet paper if only they'd put writing on it.

Anyhoo, enough blather - I look forward to opening up a whole new world of reading here, and to getting to know you all better with time.

Cheers
Kath

I'm a bit late to this intro thing, but I'll type a quick line or two.

Currently quarter century old :?
Got MA in Eng. Lit. (doing nothing with it--of course)
I'm trying to find time to write, but my job is always in the way. I have two cats and a dog. My frustrations are taken out on my guitar and my books.

Please cue the drum roll as i must make a big production of myself as it is the only logical way to introduce ones self... I was born in cleveland, ohio.. (and no caps are needed since the pride of ohio failed to come through in the national title game).. but i have lived in Georgia for about 13 years (Go Dawgs... falcons, braves and hawks.. meh! kudos to the Thrashers though :D ) I haven't always embraced the toils of the tongue.. I used to dispise it, infact it was in the same category as liver..ugh.. and since that time liver you would be happy to know is still in that firmly locked little box and reading is beaming with freedom..(no pun intended) I admire Shakespeare, actually forget that.. i can not express in words what his writings have meant to me.. I know shakespeare is like a gateway drug everybody starts off with it to move on to more hardcore drugs, or like light cigerettes.. but I cling to this entranceway and hang in the doorway to greet those who venture on.. ( has the rambling commenced.. i think so..) Wrapping things up I don't believe in "love" or rather the universal accepted meaning of it.. i do not believe the bond that my significant other and i share is like anyone else's thus the word shall not be like. I've made my own word and will not share it for the world.( maybe i'm being hard on "love", but we normally are on the things/people we expect more out of :?:) I enjoy working with children and make-a-wish, i smoke more than i should and liquor (whatever you prefer) is my crutch.. on which i lean.. so that at any point should i fall, i can blame it on the booze.. And I will should such an occassion arise.
