I rate this story 3 out of 4 stars

My trip to Adele was an extraordinary story that consist of love loss, love revival, independentcy, gender roles, challenges to ones own religion and marriageable challenges. Each chapter tells a perspective story of each person who all have different back rounds about their lives and their reasons of why they want to go to Adele's concert. Nadia wants to escape her ex-husbands abuse with her only son so they can enjoy the concert. Yaser, a surgeon, wants to revive a memory to save his marriage with his wife Merriam. And lastly Elias, a man who could not forget his love with Malika after Eight years of not seeing one another again, in hopes to find her where he left her.

Even though this isnt my sort of story to read, I still decided to pick it up and read it out of sheer curiosity. Eventually, I realized after a few chapters in, I kinda liked it. The characters where well written and I realized at some point that a few of them relate to each other in morales. Some of them say that their hometown is a place of both sin and love, and blessings. Which I find interesting but thats probably because they grew up in those cities so they were use to the dirty secrets that lay in their towns.

I also enjoyed the multiple perspectives too. That was quite interesting to see in this novel based on how these characters acted and why they acted the way they did. The one named Elias broke the fourth wall once inhe midst of his story, which I found interesting since we were in first person, not third person. There were a few times that I did find that Yaser and Elias was the same person from time to time while reading their perspectives though. But the most character that I felt any emotion towards was Nadia and her struggles for independency, it really made me infuriated that she was being treated the way she was all because she was a woman and not a man, which to me of course, was sexist. It made me want to punch her Ex-husband in the face with my mind when he did what he did to her as well.

One other thing that I liked about this story was how culturally diverse these characters are. They are not the stereotypical white couple with marriage issues. No, they are people of color who also live in this world. They even discuss their live issues in the story besides their love lives, such as Nadia having difficulty at work for not giving her a leave, or Yasers job failure at helping Micheal. These are real people, with other issues and not just white people either.

The reason why I gave this story a three out of four was because there were a few times were I felt triggered by Nadias story. It made me feel unhappy at times and even upset when I continued to read her part. The other reason was because I found a sentence error in there as well. "But I wished my parents could have accompanied us just like as parents did." Page 184. That sentence should be more like: "But I wished my parents could have accompanied us just like YOUR parents did."
