The Governor's Daughter by Sam bath Measham is a great book that has excellent characters. The way the author describes the time period and how each character grows and develops in their own unique way makes it a great read.

Although I am not so keen about historical fiction, I find the snippet and review on this book very stimulating. The style of writing makes it very interesting to read. What really gets at me in historical writings/fiction is the style of writing which comes across much too detailed to the point of a bore. The Governor's Daughter sure got me interested in taking another look at historical fiction.

Wow, sounds like a good read! The fact that you're not normally into historical fictions but still gave this 4 out of 4 stars really means something. I think I might also enjoy this. Thanks for this great review!

I'm not a huge fan of historical fiction but I'd like to give it a try. It's sounds very interesting especially when the book portrays themes such as racism and social status because these are issues that anyone from anywhere can relate to. Great review by the way!

It has been awhile since I've read a YA novel. Mostly because they seem to follow the same plot lines. The Governor's Daughter sounds refreshing and I look forward to learning about the French occupation of Cambodia.

Thanks for your review! This series sounds like a combination of Dr. Siri and Sano Ichiro, both of which I loved. Cambodia is an amazing country.

Very refreshing review for something that's stated as YA novel. It's nice to see a story with substance that crosses genres.
