Seems like a book many can relate to or be touched by. Glad to see so many positive comments.

I'm not a pet lover before, but I used to have a Puppy named Loki and Doc. Both are French Bully. After Loki and Doc came into my life, I started to love dogs. I treated them as my child.
This book reminds me of Doc and Loki (who's in heaven now). Thumbs up to the author! Worth reading the book!

I didn't think of it in terms of children, since she gets her first dog later in life. Interesting perspective

I like this book because it makes me think of my dog Dusty who passed when I was little. Dusty and I did not get along at first because I was a very loud infant, but over the years he came to love me. I like that the author draws parallel between her father and Barney. I agree that there should have been more showing and less telling when talking about her father.

Even though I'm a huge cat lover, I can definitely relate to this book. It's amazing how animals and people can have a strong relationship. I like that it's also humorous at some point because memoirs can often be depressing.
