HalcyonFlower: Please do read and let me know. My intention to write this novella was to show all of us as humans first, rather than tagging each individual as someone belonging to a country, religion or race. I believe that we all have much more in common than we think. Thanks for your interest

A story that "reminds us that the connections between individuals can be more powerful than the conflicts between governments" sounds inspirational indeed. Not sure it's for me, but I am glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for the review!

Any story that shows humanity overpowering hate and conflict is worth reading. This sounds like a nice, light, but also inspirational read. Great review, and congrats to the author for making BOTD!

Wow. This definitely does seem like a poignant story. I would hate to be dropped off basically in the middle of nowhere all by myself. Then to have to watch for the enemy but not shoot? Thanks for the review.

A story about the neverending conflict between the two countries. A soldier bound by duty to guard a no man's land. Though hesitant at first, builds up courage to obey his superior. What happens during his watch makes up for most of the story. A lesson in humanity.
