This is awkward but my dad was looking over my birth certificate and saw a bottle of "keri" lotion and thought it was pretty so there you go.

According to my dad, I was named after his father, Charles. My name is Cheryl and was the only "Ch" name they could think of for a girl. I didn't find this out until many years later, after my grandfather had passed. I am quite honored to have been named after him.

I am the first child of my parents and my name which is Ayokanmi means "I have got my share of joy"
My name is a reflection of their state of mind. They were happy to welcome me to the world.
Where I come from, names can be a whole sentence. ?. They just say it the way they feel at the moment.
For instance, people bear the name - Oluwadarasimi. Which means, God is good to me. Isn't that a whole sentence?
???????
Lord, protect me from my friends; I can take care of my enemies.

In India, names are selected on the basics of what they mean. It is believed that the name will have a impact in the child's life. Many times parents name the child with a name that signifies what the child has brought them. My name is Manisha, when translated it means 'The heart's desire/wish'. :D

My name is Dorothy, which means "Gift of God". My mom found the name in a book and thought it sounded good, though according to my sister it would have been Daniel had I been a boy.

I actually changed my name when I turned 20 for personal reasons.
It came to me in a dream and it simply fit my personality. :)

My dad named me Robert Joseph Patrick. I later changed it to Patrick R. and dropped the Joseph. My last name is 3 syllables so writing my complete signature was a bit much. ...sorry Joseph, something had to give!

My mom is a footballer fan, during her delivery Ronaldo was the best player and scorer of the month.
So she had no option but to give me that name Ronald but word O was missing. Thanks so much
