Roadmap to The End of Days is a fascinating and comprehensive book that presents the author’s case for the existence of evidence in Scripture and History that show us where we are with respect to the end of the world. It encourages us to expand our horizons to see if there is a discernable pattern leading to the end of reality as we know it. It gives us a formula to decipher and decode the impending apocalypse. It is indeed thought provoking.
The author begins by referring to a person wandering around in a glass maze to show that important patterns in history and scripture can either change or stay the same. He encourages us to understand that different faiths and religions have similarities and differences which should be honored. For example, he tells us that every Abrahamic Religion including Judaism, Christianity and Islam believes that the End of Days will be ushered in by a messiah.
This book is rife with known facts such as that the Bible was written by forty people ever a period of two thousand years and that the Old Testament is composed of thirty-nine individual books and that the Islamic holy book is the Qur’an while the Jewish holy book is the Talmud. In addition, we are told that the popular Kabbalah contains holy writings on the mystical aspects of Judaism.
Throughout the book we are encouraged to examine important questions such as “why are we here” and to understand the patterns leading to the end of time. All of this leads to the fact that we always have the gift of “free will” which can change our fate if we are willing to study past mistakes, theology and history.
I found passages of this book difficult to read and somewhat confusing hoping I did not miss the point. There is so much information presented that at times it becomes overwhelming. Another problem was with the internal structure of the book where terms and points of research and reference are “clickable” taking the reader directly to the appendix or notes. This was distracting and it took me a while to figure out how to return to the text without losing my place. There were also definitions given for common, everyday words which seemed distracting. For example, when you click on the underlined word “maze” you are taken to a page with several definitions which are irrelevant to what you are reading. In addition, most of the table and charts were difficult to read.
I applaud the author for the depth of his research and knowledge of the bible. This is a very good book to help one understand important segments of the bible as they relate to prophecy, history and to the end of time. Despite the weaknesses mentioned above, this is still an excellent read and worthy of four out of four stars.
