Yes! I go back to old favorites in YA and children's lit and when I babysit I get introduced to the kids favorites. Sometimes they are the same stories, maybe the series has been expanded (seems to be a trend with everything) and other times it's a completely new series.

I love the illustrations and stories, they make a great short read. Some illustrations in the books are truly works of art.

Hi everyone, newbie here. :tiphat:

Yes, I read children's books ALL the time. Those I've had since I was a child, and the ones my students bring to me in class because they know how much I love to read. And I have no shame about it. Sometimes, when I catch them reading during class, I take the book from them, I read it while they're on the playground and if it was a short story, I finish it quickly and give it back later to the little devil with a warning. :lol2:

I read children's book sometimes on my vacant time. And, I love to tell and relay stories to my little friends. For my friends are usually kids. They urged me to tell stories. I make some tricks to make it more lively and funnier. We will laugh and play to ease thier painful situation because they are the children on the streets. The story might be simple yet the moral lesson still applicable today.

Absolutely! Just because something is written for a younger age bracket doesn't mean it isn't good. If I refused to read books that were "too young" for me, I could miss out on some great pieces of literature!

Lol well I'm 13 so I'm not exactly a child but not exactly a grown up either. I like children's books, they're really short, easy to read and most of the time teach a moral lesson.

Totally! I'm still a sucker for Enid Blyton's hardcover story books, stories I started reading since I was 9! Or is it Ann M. Martin's "Babysitters Club series" or Franscine Pascal's "Sweet Valley Twins" and the rest? I even fantasize on having a wing in my future 'mansion' home dedicated to a collection of all these book series including those read and unread!!

Is Harry Potter considered children or YA? I catch myself rereading those here and there. I also have a two year old to which I have read many stories.

I greatly enjoy reading Children's books. There is a lot of variety in this genre. There are books for toddlers, then middle-grade, etc. Reading children's books can definitely put a smile on your face and I always include at least 1 children's book in my monthly reading list.

I confess I do love children's books. They contain innocence and make us believe in good. Above all, it gives hope. I always loved Enid Blyton and L.M. Montgomery.

It is true what you said there- children's books do make us believe in good and give us hope. I feel so bright whenever I read them. I am also an admirer of Enid Blyton's books, love most of them.

Sometimes I re-read the books I read as a child when I'm feeling nostalgic.
