I thoroughly enjoyed this book written by Brian O’Hare! Although it is the second in a series, it can easily be read alone. From start to finish, it is a gripping and thrilling murder mystery, entwined with just a hint of romance, that will keep you captivated to the very end. It begins in the past, with a terrifying incident that later becomes connected to the present.

When there are two murders committed at 11:05 on a Tuesday night, both exactly a week apart, with the same MO, things start to really get frantic for the detectives at Strandtown Police Station. Who will be the next victim? Can newly appointed Sergeant Denise Stewart and her colleagues connect the dots fast enough to save the third victim? How can all these seemingly random clues be linked together? Who is Sergeant Stewart’s informant and where are they getting their information? From stalkers to kidnappings, near death experiences to desperate measures, this is a book that will keep you in suspense from start to finish. The list of suspects continues to grow as the book progresses, leaving the reader wondering who will be caught in the end. The author doesn’t give anything away, only building anticipation and intrigue as the book continues. As I was reading, I would find myself analyzing and guessing who the murderer might be. It was as if I were being drawn into the book as one of the characters. Each character was realistic and easily relatable.

I loved that this book was one I didn’t want to put down, reading it late into the night. If I would have had time, I would have read it straight through to the end. It was riveting, suspenseful, and well written. The book flowed well without jumping from the different settings and characters in a way that was confusing or complicated. I don’t think there was a single thing that I did not like about The 11.05 Murders, The Inspector Sheehan Mysteries Volume 2.

It is necessary to note, however, that this book is inappropriate to younger audiences. Although it was an excellent read, there were descriptive and graphic details of murder and rape that were violent and gruesome.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I will be reading more books from Brian O’Hare in the future. He is an outstanding author who kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire book.
