Thanks hsimone. It was definitely unique as far as vampire stories but not way out there. If you do read it, let me know what you think.

Sounds scarily interesting. But youngsters and ladies should not read such a book at night (the imagination would go berserk!)

I do not get into any books that involve vampires and such. However, this one seems to takes it on a bit differently and being that Sylvio is considered good, it sounds like it's told on more of a positive note, despite the violence. I like how it's a book of how Rachel and Sylvio confront evil and learn the capability of choosing light over dark. Also, I'm the EXACT way when it comes to books in a series, so thank you so much for mentioning that you can read Book 2 without having read Book 1. Whew! So happy you said that! Covering Sylvio's past and present gives readers a better understanding of his character, which will help even more since I haven't read Book 1. I downloaded my free copy! Thqnk you so much for your helpful review! :-)

I haven't read a good 'good' vampire story in a long time, but from the review, this book sounds amazing.

I like the way the review has been done. It makes me want to read the book. I have read a couple of vampire stories I liked, so, though I'm not a fan of violent novels, I will put this on my 'to read' list and hope I like it as much as I did it's review.

Great review for this book. I was hesitating earlier because... well, its a paranormal vampire plus violence which was not my favorite. But I think I can give this book a chance. Hopefully I'll managed to get engaged with this book for it does sounds interesting.

A vampire that was a slave and a girl who trades her blood to live joining forced to defeat evil sounds interesting to me. I'm really into paranormal stories and this definitely fits the bill. Congrats on being BOTD and thanks for making it free.

Thanks for this informative review. The element of Rachel and others being in an agreement with the good vampire and allowing him to feed off of them in exchange for health, a place to live, and an allowance, makes this sounds like a unique vampire book.

Even if the book was well written as a second in the series, I think I would need to read the first one before I committed to the second. Excellent review, though! The book certainly sounds like something I would be into.

I guess I'm back on the vampire bandwagon! I used to love love love vampire stories, but eventually I burned out and moved to other genres. This review gave me back that longing for a good vampire story. Will probably check it out, but I think I'll read the first one before - I'm a stickler for reading series in good order.

Despite their being a complete over abundance of vampire literature, this one sounds good, and the fact that it got a perfect review from OBC is another positive mark for it.

I admit that I do love a good vampire story, especially if the author gives it a different spin than the usual. It sounds like I'll have to put this one on my reading list! Thanks for the great review - it helped me decide whether or not I want to read this novel.

Sounds like a great read. Vampires are a little overdone now BUT this might just get me hooked on them once more
