Escape written by Belle Ami,is an action/romance novel which highlights the dangers of nuclear empowerment in the Middle East.
It tells the story of Layla Rose Wallace, a Harvard student who was kidnapped along with her Saudi boyfriend while vacationing in Dubai and taken to Iran. She was "seemingly" rescued by green eyed, deep cover Mossad Agent,Cyrus Hassani. His mission?seduce Layla and extract Information, alternatively get her out of Iran failing which, kill her.
Upon first contact with Layla,Cyrus is undeniably attracted to her, with time she becomes even more difficult to resist. Cyrus fights these strange feelings melting the ice around his heart every step of the way. With a nationwide manhunt and danger lurking in every corner, will they live long enough to explore these feelings and find home in each other's arm?
The novel gave me quite a thrill from the very first page. It was like watching an action movie in real time. The aura of danger and suspense surrounding Escape gave it quite an edge.I loved the vivid description of events and emotions as they were unfolding.
I relished the hum of attraction and simmering connection between Layla and Cyrus amidst dangerous situations. The Author gave life to their attraction and growing bond. The love making scenes were blazing with emotions and well detailed. If you love action/sexy erotic then you won't be disappointed.
Secondary characters in the novel were also very significant. The mild affection between Layla and Karim, her Saudi Harvard boyfriend held no comparison to the all consuming love she felt for Cyrus and it was quite an eye opener. it makes you realize you can't hold back with true love,It always wins.Aleck Wallace,Layla's father portrays the extent to which a father would go to save his daughter. I found this truly fascinating.Jalal's character shows you where the insatiable quest for power could lead.
I think Escape was professionally edited because I hardly saw any grammer or spelling errors. The conversation style was simple and flowed naturally between the characters, this made the novel easy to grasp. The use of Islamic terms enriched the piece and was expected considering the novel was set mostly in an Islamic country.
Each chapter begins with a location which made it very easy for me to know and experience where events take place.I also loved the way the author vividly describes the scenery, always transporting you to a different location through your imagination.
The plot may be something you have seen before but the way the author vividly brings to life this story of strength, courage, defiance, loyalty, betrayal and trust gives you a unique experience.
One thing I did not really like was towards to end of the novel, when you expect feelings to be resolved the author keeps stretching it.Once a climax is reached, it's natural for one to expect resolution and a sense of satisfaction,I did not get that immediately.A very rich emotional ending made up for this,so the delay was quite rewarding.I rate this novel a 4 out of 4 .Have a great time reading, hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
